'They lit a fire in a deep hollow shrouded by the great bushes of holly, and their supper was merrier than it had been
since they set out. They did not hurry to bed afterwards, for they expected to have all night to sleep in.'
- JRR Tolkien ' The Ring Goes South', Fellowship of the Ring
During these troubled times I decided to make a Lord of the Rings artwork that doesn't portray an epic battle or a hero, but shows a simple, calm evening that the Fellowship could spend together at the beginning of their journey, just as they left Rivendell. Nothing bad has happened to any of them yet. And as they sat there, a strange fellowship grew up between them, forged in the face of the unknown.
